Prosolia Energy, an Independent Power Producer (IPP), has joined SolarPower Europe, the leading European association for the solar photovoltaic sector. This membership will enable the company to play a more active role in the regulatory, technological and market discussions that will shape the next phase of renewable energy development across Europe.
SolarPower Europe brings together more than 300 organisations from across the solar and storage value chain. Prosolia Energy is joining the association as part of its latest group of new members, together with 1KOMMA5°, Renalfa Solarpro Group and Suntech. As a member, Prosolia Energy will contribute its perspective as an integrated IPP on key areas driving the evolution of the energy system, including renewable generation, energy storage, flexibility, electrification and the integration of renewable energy into increasingly complex power systems.
The association plays an active role in shaping the regulatory and business environment for solar energy in Europe and hosts specialised working groups focused on strategic issues for the sector. Its mission is to help make solar energy Europe’s leading source of power by 2030.
For Prosolia Energy, the membership reinforces its engagement with the European energy sector at a time when the integration of different technologies is becoming increasingly important for the evolution of the power system. The company manages a diversified technology portfolio integrating photovoltaics, wind power and battery energy storage systems (BESS), across distributed generation and utility-scale projects in five European markets, Spain, Germany, Portugal, France and Italy, as well as in Mexico.
