Desi 2D Enables More Discovery in Molecular Pathology

Understanding the distribution of lipids and metabolites in tissue is key to unveiling the underlying pathology of disease. Mass spectrometry utilized for molecular diagnostics enables broad screening of phenotypic changes in tissue samples, but conventional LC-MS/MS methods do not preserve the spatial relationships between molecules of interest or allow follow-on histology to be performed on the same sample.

Desorption Electrospray ionization technology in the DESI 2D provides the ability to analyze fresh-frozen tissue and cells, in situ, while preserving critical sample characteristics allowing conventional histology to be performed on the same sample so you can discover more in your samples.
